Nexans 800SA – the compact surge arrester that protects and enhances your medium voltage networks.

The Nexans EUROMOLD 800SA Interface C surge arrester is specifically designed to protect XLPE/EPR cables and medium voltage equipment against transient overvoltages (lightning, switching operations, and temporary overvoltages).

Installed directly within your Interface C cable terminations and coupling connectors, it helps improve network availability and reduce the risk of damage to sensitive equipment.

Highperformance protection technology

The 800SA is a metal‑oxide varistor (MOV) surge arrester, delivering effective and repeatable protection against overvoltages:

  • Metal‑oxide varistor (MOV) technology with fast response, tailored to medium voltage networks.
  • Energy rating: 2.5 kJ/kV, providing strong endurance against severe overvoltage events.
  • Leakage/discharge current: 10 kA, ensuring reliable energy dissipation during surge peaks.

This technology ensures efficient voltage limitation at the cable and equipment terminals while maintaining a high level of longterm reliability.
