Global description
Nexans 200SR – compact straight connector with capacitive test point for medium voltage networks up to 24 kV
The Nexans EUROMOLD 200SR is a separable straight Interface A connector designed to connect XLPE/EPR insulated cables to transformers, switchgear and medium voltage equipment.
In contrast to the 200LR elbow version, the 200SR provides in‑line connections on Interface A bushings, ideal when cables are routed frontally or along the axis of the busbar.
Function and applications
It is intended for medium voltage networks up to 24 kV, in particular:
- MV/LV transformers equipped with Interface A bushings,
- compact medium voltage switchgear,
- equipment requiring elbow connections.
- capacitive voltage indication via an integrated capacitive test point for detecting the presence of voltage.
In this way, the 200SR complements the 200LR, allowing designers to combine straight and elbow terminations within the same installation.
Voltage and conductor cross‑section range
Depending on the version:
- Maximum service voltage: up to 24 kV (Interface A),
- Typical conductor cross‑section range: e.g. 25 to 150 mm² for XLPE/EPR cables,
- Possibility to use class 5 conductors without lugs, providing extra flexibility regarding cable types.
This range covers the majority of standard medium voltage distribution applications.
Design and materials
Like the 200LR, the 200SR is designed for reliability and safety:
- 100 % EPDM body: excellent electrical and mechanical performance, good resistance to ageing and environmental stress,
- Conductive outer sheath:
- ensures a fully touch‑proof screen,
- allows proper earthing of the cable screen in line with good network practice,
- Integrated capacitive test point: facilitates voltage presence verification using capacitive voltage detectors.
Each 200SR is factory tested, with routine tests to ensure performance and compliance.
System integration and compatibility
The 200SR is part of the Nexans EUROMOLD Interface A range:
- fully compatible with Interface A bushings on transformers and MV equipment,
- complements the 200LR to combine in‑line and elbow terminations within the same system,
- can be integrated with other Interface A accessories (extenders, earthing accessories, etc.).
User benefits
Choosing Nexans 200SR means:
- having a compact elbow connector ideally suited to medium voltage installations up to 24 kV,
- benefiting from an integrated capacitive test point for voltage detection and indication,
- ensuring a touch‑proof connection that meets operator safety requirements,
- relying on Nexans reliability, with high‑quality EPDM materials and rigorous routine testing.
Nexans 200LR – the reference Interface A elbow connector for compact, safe and easily monitored medium voltage connections.
