Nexans and the Global Compact

Nexans signed the United Nations Global Compact in December 2008. By joining this initiative, our Group has made a commitment to support and implement ten fundamental principles in the areas of Human rights, labor standards, protection of the environment, and anti-corruption measures.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations proposed the creation of the Global Compact in his speech to the World Economic Forum in Davos in 1999. This initiative, which was officially launched in 2000, brings together companies, professional organizations, universities, non-governmental organizations and representatives from the business world and civil society.

By joining the Global Compact, Nexans undertakes to respect and promote the ten fundamental principles to its employees, suppliers and all of its partners. Nexans also undertakes to integrate these principles into its strategy and internal management and to publish an annual report on its objectives and activities in this area.

The Nexans Code of Ethics and Business Conduct  reflects the ten principles of the Global Compact.

By supporting the Global Compact, Nexans demonstrates its desire to contribute to a world economy based on corporate citizenship and to encourage its suppliers and partners to follow the same path.

In the 2010 Communication on Progress, Nexans reasserts its commitments and actions on the 10 principles.

The ten principles of the UN Global Compact
